New Reviews from Europe

“Karl Lundeberg is well on his way to becoming one of the most recognized composers of this century….a natural talent. “

“… a fresh, contemporary piece of work which could be labeled World Prog and justifies the comparison to Peter Gabriel.”

“A very theatrical approach conjuring up a rich, layered musical sphere where each song flows seamlessly into the next while showcasing the virtuosity of the musicians. “

“Fascination Curve can only deliver more pleasant surprises! “

…and now, he ( Karl Lundeberg ) emerges for the first time with a rock record. And what a record.”

“Here you will find skilled, driven, and yet seemingly effortless music composition which goes hand in hand with significant texts and themes that really matter. Lundeberg’s analysis of the US is razor sharp, yet delicate and subtle.”

“The music has at times a deceptively laidback atmosphere in which there is room for jazzy interludes… Because of this you might think you are listening to really good quality nice sunday morning pop…. But nothing could be further from the truth. “

“In the sprawling title track of no less than twenty minutes the musicians work craftily through a continuously changing scene of atmospheres and themes. It seems like a kind of light version of the epic Dream Theater's latest offering with more groove/swing and less metal.”

“…for this album to slip under the radar would be an eternal sin, so let me repeat it again: This provocative, daring CD deserves you as a listener!

Lyrically very substantive, heavy material but with a delightful musical soundtrack …”

“ A special unique Americana-prog rock….beautiful floating melodies and dreamy guitar parts…”

“ The ‘piece de resistance’ is the epic 20 minute title track…gorgeous multi layered music…”

“ A powerful statement.”

“This record is an ambitious project …”

“If we look at Karl's path it is truly remarkable and surprisingly eclectic:

“With the band Fascination Curve this eclecticism is confirmed with songs and segments  from progressive rock, hard rock, jazz, pop, blues and world music that have in common a search for melody and ambitious choral arrangements…. “

“Complex and personal….keyboards reminiscent of Keith Emerson….Floydian flavors.”

“Strong lyrics concerning disinformation and manipulations related to the virus….a harsh condemnation of racism. “

“Enveloping and majestic… “

“ The exceptional lyrics throughout this album are very engaging and form the very heart of what needs to be said about too many inequities facing humanity today. “

“ It doesn't get any more poignant than the opening track, Land Of The Free, Home Of The Slave, which has the hallmarks of a classic Pink Floyd sound.”

“ …. joyous singing that really captivated me right from the get go. “

“ While many lyrical sections are sung with a breathy, wispy approach, it is when the additional singers chime in with harmonious unison, the shivers run up and down the spine.”

“ If you could imagine a full contingent of gospel singers and fellow musicians, swaying in choral unison at a Joe Cocker or even a Roger Waters concert when the finale arrives, you would be close to the mark. “

“ While this is not strictly a progressive rock type of album, it would certainly appeal to those who enjoy elements of jazz, world music, rock, pop and folk as it embraces all of those sensibilities.”

“ For a person with so many obvious talents, just how hard does it become to break through the barriers and become a household name? Wonders never cease. “

“ It is the sort of album that deserves recognition for the elements within but also to remind us all, that we need to be aware of others and their importance to the well-being of the planet.”

“ This is a great album…what a great ride.”

… A full blown epic concept album….

… Musically there is so much going on here, so many different music styles, it is absolutely amazing…lovely progressive rock parts, but also jazz, pop, blues and even world music influences….

…overall it sounds like a progressive rock mixture between Peter Gabriel, Steven Wilson, David Bowie and Mark Knopfler…

…Fascination Curve has it’s own style…very melodic… superb soaring guitar solos…

…Corona Time in Amerika is a great album….a soon to be legendary album…

… Corona Time in Amerika radiates hope …

…The social commitment of musician Karl Lundeberg is honest and heartfelt. He tackles the issues surrounding the Black Lives Movement in the USA while honoring the many people working and dying in healthcare jobs. His music can serve to make us all a little more aware of our responsibilities to make this world a more beautiful and better place.

….with such first class musicians, Karl Lundeberg and Fascination Curve have created a work which radiates something very special.

… a variety in the music made up from different elements ranging from lyrical moments to powerful soundscapes with a hard rock influence…singing which seems more like broad choral singing than the work of a single lead singer…all differing impressions which ultimately all merge into a unified overall picture.

… wonderful solos from guitar and keyboards provide plenty of color to the overall soundscape and testify to a high level of musicianship.

…the track “ Somewhere Somehow “ shines… this slow song, led by the piano, seems to float and radiates a harmonious calm….

…the vocal arrangements are fascinating , sounding almost like a choir…impacts the listener very strongly….very sensitive.

…very harmonious music but with lyrics that tackle their topics relentlessly…

…the album “Corona Time in Amerika” is a very ambitious work.

…Songs that take the temperature of America through music that broadens ones reflections and thoughts in melodic landscapes.…an album that reflects today’s America and it’s times.

…A record that serenely creates a philosophical calm amidst the social maelstrom.
